This policy describes what data VRide processes about you, why, and what rights you have.
What data we process
Login details — email and password (we never see your password inside the app; it's managed by Supabase Auth in encrypted form).
Profile details — your name, bio, and any photos you upload.
Car details — make, model, horsepower, top speed and other specs of cars you add.
Location — your device's approximate location, only if you grant the app permission. Used solely to show you nearby people/cars. We never share your location outside the app.
Content you create — chat messages, forum posts and comments.
Reports and blocks — if you report or block someone, we store this to help protect other users.
Why we process this data
To operate the app — login, showing profiles, matching, chat, forum, leaderboard.
To show you nearby riders/cars (location).
To handle reports of inappropriate behaviour and protect other users.
To process payment for premium features (via Apple App Store / Google Play — the app never sees or stores your payment details).
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it with third parties only to the extent needed to run the app:
Supabase — the app's database, authentication, and photo storage.
Apple / Google — for in-app payment processing and app distribution.
How long we keep data
For as long as your account is active. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) permanently and immediately removes your profile, photos, cars, matches, and messages from the active database. Encrypted backup copies of the database (automatically created by our infrastructure provider, Supabase) may persist for a limited period, up to 30 days, before they too are permanently removed.

Have your account and all data deleted — directly in the app under Settings, or by emailing vride@thevride.com.
Withdraw location permission at any time in your phone's settings.
